Behind him a large bird of prey also known as Rice flew down behind him. She peched on his shoulder as he walked through the tall grasses of the moor. Above them the sky was dark and the twin moons hung high one dim and the other bright both cresent. The air was warm and the quiet currents blew quickly past him only speaking to him every once in a while. Other than his quiet footsteps and the insects the night was quiet and still. Well it was until Rice opened her beak to speak. "Quiet it is, quiet it was." Kyrin rolled his eyes and ignored the bird that was perched upon his shoulder. The skin her talons were sunk into had become hard and inpenatrable so he didn't feel it as she rove them into his shoulder. Looking up at the brown bird he smirked. Rice had become his surragate sister and after Nyalah's death she'd helped ease the pain. Looking back to the edges of the moor he scanned the area and when he confirmed there were no intruders the rolo kept up his stealthy pace. With the night quiet again he felt the bird shift on his shoulder and thought of the day they'd met. It'd been the day after Nyalah had died when Rice had come to him injured and near to death. It had been during the middle of summer and he remembered he'd been terribly hot and even his control on the wind did nothing to help. At the time Rice had been no more than a chick and she fallen out of her nest in the peaks high above on the towers of the castle. Feathers had been litterally ripped from her tiny wings and she was covered in wounds. It was heer in the moor that he'd found her. With his heart still wounded from his loss he took pity on the tiny being and ran with her to his home which was a room in of the towers that over looked the land. There he preyed to Grey to save her and in time her health was restored; shes been with him eversince. Because of this Grey allowed the pair to be able to communicate telapathically. "You really are a hero." Kyrin smiled and stopped watching as she flew off of his shoulder and landed infont of him. Whoa. he thought. She's not talking in circles today huh? She gave him her famous shutup stare and he chuckled. Taking a seat in the long grass he looked down upon her small form and smiled lazily. His violet eyes bore into her topaz. "You were saying?" She sighed shaking her head at him and fluffed her feathers. Your such a jerk. she thought. He could hear the sass in her voice and he laughed looking around to see the wolf that had stepped upon Oneiros territory. The wind carried a familiar scent and soon after one small gust of wind the air whispered to him. Sunfeather was approaching. Straightening himself the rolo made himself presentable for the vita chasete. Suddenly the thought of why he was even elected a rolo. Probably because of his ability to speak to the wind. It told him of the scents of the beings approaching and he was able to place the scent and if not the were labled an intruder. Rice screeched out a yawn and Kyrins violet eyes flew to her. What are you thinking? he yelled at her through his mind. She gave him an apollogetic glance and moved closer to him until her wing tips touched him. They were never far apart unless needed. Sorry, you know I'm usually asleep at this time. He nodded and looked to the direction of the oncomming company.

Caught in temporary lapse of action the white wolf laid on her belly, head lifted from the ground as the high grass tickled her ears. She flicked them irritably and snorted as the rhythmic sound of distant wings flapping caught both ears. She knew that the sound she heard was her lifelong companion keeping watch over her while she rested in the tall grass.
The large white wolf yawned and closed her eyes, listening to everything around her as her father had once told her to do when she had been training. The thought of her loving parent made a pressure build up behind both eyes but she held back the tears. A wolf with a high rank like she had shouldn't be crying... No matter how much the pain hurt.
"Kraakaa! Cry if you need. No one is around." The cawing voice of a big, black raven burst through the she-wolf's thoughts. She looked up and saw the bird circling close above her, his sharp eyes had seen the tears starting to form in her own. Nothing got past the intelligent avian, unfortunately, Sunfeather would have preferred no one see her in such a state; even her closest friend.
The white wolf wiped a large paw across her face and blinked rapidly, clearing away the signs of her sadness. "I will do no such thing! With my rank I shouldn't be bawling and sqwaling like a little pup. You know that perfectly well, friend." From her lower position on the ground she couldn't see the eye roll that Erevu gave.
"You are hopeless!" Despite his words the raven could see his friend's point, even he preferred for others not to see his sadness. When he had any, of course...
Sunfeather rose to her paws and stretched once before calling to her friend, "I've rested long enough, come, let's walk- er, fly in your case." The raven cackled in laughter as he followed his companion through the moor.
After a few minutes the bird above the wolf gave a warning caw and from the sound of it he was a bit nervous. Sunfeather looked tensely up at him. "What's the matter, Evu?" The answer didn't come from the avian but from the sound of an eagle's screech, Sunfeather knew that her friend had a small fear of birds of prey and it was an eagle that had attacked him when they'd first met.
The raven dove from the air and nervously perched on the wolf's shoulder, his beady eyes shining fearfully. The bird wouldn't dare voice his fears aloud as he was too proud so the wolf gave him a reassuring nudge before continuing forward. They couldn't let a little eagle scare them off, besides, the raven would have to confront his fears one day or another so why not now?
As the white wolf continued forward she saw the object of her friend's fear as well as another wolf. She knew he was apart of the pack not only by his smell but also because she'd seen him around before. What was his name? Oh yes! Kyrin! She remembered now, he was a Roloi. Although she hadn't really known him to have a companion as she figured the bird standing next to him to be.
"Good day, Kyrin, I hope you are doing well?" Sunfeather spoke politely to the green wolf as was expected of a higher rank to a lower. Erevu showed no such politeness though as he glared fearfully at the eagle, saying nothing. The white wolf expected as much and she hoped that Kyrin wouldn't take offense to the raven's open disdain of his companion.

Next to him, he felt Rice’s wing brush against the side of his he and he looked at her from his peripheral vision that’s when he noticed how on edge she looked. Raising his head, he looked at her fully taking in her rigid figure. The eagle’s grey stormy eyes were locked on the Raven. The black creature was perched upon the white fae’s shoulder and from his expression; he wasn’t too fond of Rice. Kyrin moved closer to his smaller friend hoping that his closeness would help her out. “Just ignore him.” He thought to her. Kyrin’s ear flicked as another bird cry rang out in the distant. The eagle turned her head and Kyrin began to wonder if it was one of her friends. Although he didn’t fully understand, he knew she was obligated to go to others birds that called upon her. She spoken little of this but he knew she used to be part of a flock of eagles.“Maybe her family.” He thought as he shrugged the thought away. He turned his attention back to the wolf before him, Sunfeather. Looking upon the markings on her face, he wondered if it inspired her name. But then again the breeze rushed past him carrying a familiar scent of another eagle. It was one that he’d smelled on Rice many and many a time again. Looking over to his friend, he looked between her and the sky.
“It’s Stormtalon,” she announced looking up at him. “I’ll be right back.” She turned to the white wolf bowed her head and took off into the sky with a screech. “I wonder what that ravens problem was.” She thought looking back to the ground where she saw her best friend talking with the vita chasette of Oneiros. The raven was clearly visible from where she was; his black form on Sunfeather's. The moment she seen him he’d glared at her as if she’d one something to him. Flapping her wings harder she rolled her eyes and flew towards her avian friend. She didn’t have time to worry about why he didn’t like her although it would nag her until she returned to Kyrin’s side.
Back on the ground, Kyrin returned his gaze to the scene that lie before him and studied her. The female was seemingly all put together but her eyes portrayed another painting. She was withholding a lot of pain and Kyrin wondered if she knew it was obvious. His violet eyes moved up her shoulder until his gaze rested on her companion. The birds beady black eyes too held something, relief and fear. Was he afraid of little old Rice? Ky wondered.
"Good day, Kyrin, I hope you are doing well?" Sunfeather asked. Feeling the feelings that the bird was giving off the green wolf took a step backwards fearing f he got to close the bird would surely peck his eyes out. “I am thanks.” He replied. Although he hadn’t meant for it to the reply seemed a little smug and he hoped she didn’t notice. It wasn’t his fault, his voice had always sounded deeper and masculine than most thought it was. Seeing as he was a small ‘fairy’ wolf, his voice didn’t seem to suit his body. Struggling he racked his brain for something to say. “I hope all is well with you ma’am?” he asked. He wondered if she’d realized he’d caught on to the sorrow that seemed to swim in her eyes.
It wasn’t that he was nosey and liked to pry he was actually the opposite. He preferred to stay out of others affairs in hope that they would stay out of his. But on the other paw, he didn’t like to see other wolves like this especially a female of higher rank nonetheless. It was because of his sister’s death that he cared at all. Before her demise he’d been self-absorbed and never let anyone else’s feelings get in his way. But seeing how alone he was with her companionship opened a whole new world for him.

The white wolf silently returned the eagle's nod and watched as she flew into the air to meet this "Stormtalon". Erevu watched as well, wondering what sort of evil deeds the birds of prey were planning; he ruffled his feathers as the relief coursed through his veins. He wondered why they couldn't be more like carrion birds who, in his opinion, were all together safer avians. But good riddance in his opinion, now he would feel more inclined to speak.
Now that the eagle was gone, the white she-wolf's good eye met with the form of the green wolf before her. He seemed to be analyzing her. She wondered if there was any sadness left in her eyes from her earlier thoughts... She thought she'd removed all the traces but there could always be lingering signs of her emotions.
“I am thanks.” While Sunfeather heard what sounded like slight smugness in his tone though she passed it off as his deeper voice. The raven on her shoulder thought otherwise and thus he cocked his head to one side and studied the male wolf, contemplating whether to admire his confidence or get annoyed. He chose the former as anyone who could tame a savage bird like an eagle was alright with him.
“I hope all is well with you ma’am?” The vita chasete gave a half smile that didn't reach her eye although she did manage to make her voice sound a little more cheerful. "Yes yes, all goes well with me. The pack is safe and happy which makes my job a heckuva lot easier." Pack life and troubles had been slow lately which made her feel lazier than what she usually was... The white wolf didn't like feeling lazy as action was what made her feel a lot more alive. She had been born to fulfill a prophecy, after all.
"Kraw! What is the eagle to you? Is she your pet? Krak! And more importantly, will she be returning soon?" The last question that the asked was spoken with a slight bit of fear as he glanced nervously towards the sky. If it hadn't been obvious before that he was fearful of the eagle, it was becoming that way now.
Sunfeather nudged her best friend and spoke quietly to him, "Relax, Erevu, she won't bother you." The raven's reply was to clack his beak together disdainfully. With a roll of her amethyst eye the wolf's gaze was back to Kyrin. "Sorry, Erevu here, is a bit afraid of birds of prey. More specifically, eagles." An annoyed caw sounded from the ebony bird at having Sunfeather reveal his fear so easily. "Well I'm sure he could already tell by the way you're acting." The she-wolf's words had a bit of amusement in them, amusement that severely irritated the black, carrion bird. So, in response he fluttered off of her shoulder and landed next to her left forepaw (since he wouldn't dare land in a tree with the eagles so close) and studiously ignore her. Thus, he didn't see the amused smile appear on his friend's face as she watched him so easily express his irritation.
