The follow thread contains the selectable canine breeds permitted on GC. As a fantasy oriented site we strive for originality among other things and what better way to set ourselves apart then by creating a series of mythical canines to choose from? These provided species are separated by category, due to the fact that some are harder and require more effort to obtain. Depending on the breeds abilities and attributes they may be restricted and only attainable through purchase at the site store. This is non-negotiable, the breeds that will fall under such heavy restrictions can be found below.
- Standard: A user can create an unlimited amount of wolves/foxes that fall under the standard category. The only restriction is that they must fall under the guidelines of their breed and you must be aware of any withstanding bans in place.
- Prestige: Three wolves can be created from this category by a single user. Additional character from this category must be purchased in the store.
- Esoteric: A user is allowed two wolves/foxes from this category. Additional characters must be bought through the store.
- Sanctioned: A user must have express permission from the Lead or Co-administrator before they are allowed to make a wolf of this breed. They are permitted one wolf of this category unless purchased through store credits.

Standard Breeds [/u][/center]
Vitque: [V · it · Kay] This is possibly one the oldest breed of wolf that roam Sorrelli’s vale. Recorded to have been the first known species of wild canine they are the native and most abundant breed. Physically they are the most adaptable, capable of withstanding very humid climates as well as extremely cold regions. Mid-sized their structural attributes are suited to various terrain styles and living conditions making them virtually impossible to displace. A hearty breed with few historical diseases they are resistant to most illness and have an impressive immune system. The color range associated with them is tones of gray, brown, and white. There is only a thirty percent chance that their fur is colored black. They are also the lowest ranking breed in terms of producing Wielders and are generally powerless.

Vaiprios: [Vape · ree · O · s] These foxes have blueish, blue-greenish, or gray fur and usually live on the sunny shores. These foxes live in the caves near the sand dunes and because their territory is so open, they have grown to be very friendly. This breed is composed of sea foxes and river foxes, which are just separate forms of the Vaiprious. The former is more fun-loving and open-minded, while the latter is more industrious and organized. They have blue tattoos of waves, fish, and other sea creatures, and have incredible swimming abilities, which are instilled in their kits at a young age. They can control existing water, such as rivers, glaciers, and sea water, and including vapor in the air or ice.

Okrious: [O · Kree · O · s] The second largest breed roaming to date they are renowned for their healing abilities and intelligence. A very passive breed that do not hold conflicts long and generally try to lead a peaceful existence. Their place of origin is not where they reside today and whether or not their homeland is still sustaining the breed is unknown. Their builds are lithe with sharp features. With their stamina and long limbs they are most comfortable running long distances and crossing flatland. Pelt wise they are generally white or gray with varying markings. The Okrious are also great believers in the worldly spirits, deploying a religious front for the elements and holding great respect for the Earth. It is more common for females of this breed to have wings then their males.

Sat’ dare: In sharp contrast to the Okrious wolves, the Sat’ dare wolves are the smallest wolves on record. Affectionately referred to as the faerie wolf, their small frames are not built for extreme combat with the larger breeds if pitted one on one. Through a careful, strategic breeding process, these wolves have slim bones but a relatively sturdy structure. Some of their bones are extremely light and have less density than others, which allows them the ability to fly without being weighed down. Coming in colors such as red, beige, brown and black they have an unusual inbred ability to levitate even without wings. However, winged Sat’ dare wolves have the tendency to be sterile if they do not come from a mixed heritage.

Tenik: [T · en · ik] The tenik are wolves evolved from the Vitque. Wolves with a higher probability of elemental powers and extra appendages they sought individualism when the rate of their evolution drastically increased twelve years ago. Technically they are not a breed, so much as a group that doesn’t wish to be associated with their former kin as a whole. They do not resent them in any way; they merely believe they are of a higher standard. They are slightly bigger and are capable of crossing long distances. Their appearances have begun to vary over the years but one thing has remained the same, they are a hearty breed and durable.

Kyristalian: [Kriys · tile · in] These foxes are often white, pale gray, or golden in color, as befits their homeland in the clouds on the peak of the highest mountain. They are generally thought of as haughty and regal, and don't involve themselves too much in others' problems. They're the ones who'll pretend they didn't see a fox crying for help. But they do like to present themselves as benevolent and helpful, which makes them a bit hypocritical. This clan marks themselves with gold, silver, or black star and sun tattoos. They have some magical power; they can create and manipulate light and have healing powers.They can also use the light to create amazing illusions, which they use to trick other foxes, wolves or prey.

Prestige Breeds [/u][/center]
Maverna: [Ma · Ver · nah]The reason the Noah’s are not shunned entirely is due to the existence of their cousins the Maverna. There is virtually only a handful of genetic coding between the two breeds that separates them from one another but it is a drastic enough amount. They are indistinguishable from the Noah from tail tip to nose there are no visible differences to be seen. Built long limbed and slender with a kaleidoscope of colored fur. They also have the native breed ability of glowing fur. The only significant difference between them is that, unlike the Noah, they do not transform on the nights of the full and New moon.

Ferial [F • e • ria • l] Distinguished by their slit pupils and retractable claws, the Ferial are wolves with feline attributes. Their muzzles tend to be short and wide opposed to long and narrow, making their grip very effective for combat and hunting. With large bodies they have traded their speed for strength which put them in rival with the Drednaught’s in terms of power. Males who ascend to high positions undergo a hormonal shift where the develop ruffles of mane-like fur along their neck and chest. From birth their instincts demand for them to group together with others of their kind and form congregations with other like species. Although it is a wolf’s instinct to locate and join its kin, the drive is especially intense for this species of wild canine. It’s extremely rare for one to become a solitary animal since their senses require constant stimulation from others. A Ferial who is not apart of a pack is generally a weaker or banished wolf and typically do not survive long on its own.

Caligo [Kay • lee • joe] The dark foxes are always blue, black or silver and red foxes, but they aren't mysterious as many might expect. They enjoy exploring the word and are often friendly. They are a very proud, moral clan and believe in fighting for what's right. They come from the limestone caves at the foothills of the mountains, ironically under the light foxes. These foxes often have silver star or crescent moon tattoos (or black/dark gray if their fur color is silver), and they have the power to remove light. They are also the foxes with the most combat skill and military technology, being a little more heavily built than the other clans. Their weapons (claw extenders, etc.) and armor plates are sought after as being the most finely crafted in the land. Their magical power is the ability to manipulate shadows. They can create illusions out of them and can blend in with them so they are nearly invisible to others.

Seelie [See • lee] Many have theorized that the Seelie are the cross between an Okrious and a Sat’dare. These suspicions are unfounded but it is the most plausible rationalization for this breeds existence. Like the smaller Sat’dare, Seelie have mutated skeletal structures and hollow bones. There is a high volume of this particular breed that is born with functioning wings. Tending to colonize on bluffs overlooking large bodies of water, it is not unusual for them to gather and frolic on beaches during the Harvest Season. They are not very tolerant of cold climates and generally stick to areas where there is abundant sunlight or open fields. An attribute they have developed is a glad located around their rectum that emits noxious fumes that they have developed into a smokescreen borne of eating plants.

Austrien [Ah • stur • ain]An Austrien, or more commonly recognized as the Shriek wolf, are usually heard before they are seen. With an average build they are highly adaptable creatures and thrive in a variety of areas. They are often recognized for the decorative frill of fur along their heads. It is usually a strident color in males to attract females of their species. Their muzzles are long and they tend to have elongated upper incisors that hook over their lip. Their bite is not worse than their bark – it’s likely just as bad. Christened Shriek wolves because of an interesting ability of passing air through their vocal cords, they have near complete control over a shrill frequency that can travel over five miles without dampening the volume. It’s a communicative method of checking territory, locating packs and frightening away competitors. It has also been converted into a weapon. If an enemy is close enough their shrieks may cause temporary deafness, though the chances are low it does serve as a hindrance if not purely an annoyance to opposition. Males are highly possessive of their territory and do not tolerate outsiders. With lean physiques they are most notable as messengers, spies and scouts for packs but fighting is not beyond them. Strangely enough their eyes have an interesting defect in which their Sclera has taken an inverted pigment. Instead of being white, the sclera is black and they usually have bright-colored eyes. However, because of this strange mutation they are light sensitive and can develop early stages of cataracts or Optic Neuritis. Shriek wolves do not see red; they will see the color as a dark gray.

Esoteric Breeds [/u][/center]
Drednaught: [D · re · d · Na · ot] The largest living breed to call this realm their home they are potentially the most dangerous inhabitants of the continent. Highly aggressive wolves with a penchant for violence they are masters of combat and regarded as guardians of the vale. They hold no alignment and come in a variety of colors though rarely one solid hue. A thick, burly physique makes for an imposing aura and usually deters most predators. These wolves are often horned canines that come in different shapes and sizes. The larger the horns are usually coveys’ their rank. It is an unexplained oddity that takes place when any of their breeds achieve a high rank. Their horns tend to grow out more during periods where they are in high positions. It is a hormonal response. Sadly due to a hereditary disease called ‘Sitaov’ their breed is becoming harder to find. The ailment emerges at a year of age and gradually destroys the nervous system. The process is maddeningly painful and in a wolf of their size and strength it is hazardous for others to be around them. Early symptoms to the presence of this disease are the blackening of the tongue and loss of pigment in the eyes. Within a month the wolf is rendered immobile and most starve to death if they are not killed when the illness is recognized. They are slowly adapting to the virus that plagues their kind but there are no guarantees on the breed’s survival. There have been reports of this breed having wings but they are rare for they are virtually useless due to their size and weight. Most can only stay airborne for half an hour depending on their strength and stamina.

Sanctioned Breeds [/u][/center]
Noah: [NO · ah] Strangers to our shores the wolves who declare themselves the Noah are said to be demons wearing wolf skin. They are unbelievable beautiful creatures though few in number and their talents are as vast as the sea is wide. Coming in a rainbow of colors there is no set hue that the breed takes on and are usually sporting intricate markings across their bodies to make them the centerpiece of most events. Physically they are not fighters but their elemental powers make them formidable. Long elegant legs hold aloft a thin body with wispy fur, large ears and brightly colored eyes mounted on a slim face. They have manes that are mostly black throughout the breed. With such unique and coveted looks the gods themselves seemed to have blessed the breed for they emit an iridescent light from their bodies. In reality the area where they lived prior to Sorrelli was cloaked in darkness with little illumination. To survive they consumed glowing moss that, through time, created a chemical that seeped into their hair floccules and made them glow. But their beauty comes with a price. During the nights of the full and new moon their bodies undergo a drastic transformation. Their gorgeous features melt away into grotesque canine shapes that released a pungent aroma. Their jaws unhinge and their teeth lengthen and are barely covered by their upper lips. It is not unusual for them to sprout horn-like bone matter from their bodies and in this form they become very hostile. By morning they revert back.

Saloe: Once masters of the vale the Saloe were majestic beasts. Now they are memories and remains. During the war raged between the wolves fifty years ago they have succumbed to disease and prejiduce from the other breeds because of their strength and prowess. It is a blessing to see one in a lifetime but as of now they have been whispered to have completely died out. They were known for their size but their beautiful markings. Pelts colored with browns, whites and grays they were proud giants of Sorrelli. They were the only breeds larger than the Drednaught wolves and they were the only wolves capable of flying with their size. Formerly known as Dragon wolves since they had a penchant to produce fire Weilders.

Draguedn: [Dray · goo · den] These foxes were once the favorite pet of Solomon. Created from fire and darkness these foxes tend to be of dark coloring with slightly brighter lesser colors if any. They are the tallest foxes out of all the species and tend to be on lean muscular side. They once roamed the lands running alongside wolves as the top predator. Over the years the wolves began to overpower these foxes and their numbers dropped. This breed is very rare and tend to live out long lives but only produce two kits per year. They are commonly referred to as the Gods dog because of their close spiritual relationship with the gods.
